Prerequisites

• Bluetooth on the device with version 5.1 or greater
• Administrative rights on the computer
• The Allthenticator app on your phone (Guide: Getting Started with the Allthenticate App)

🚀 Installation

1. Install the desktop service for your operating system: download.allthenticate.com

2. After installation, the user interface will pop up and prompt you to scan the QR code with your Allthenticator app.

   <aside> 💡

   If you scan the code with your phone’s native camera, you will be redirected to the App Store/Play Store to install the app

3. After scanning the QR code, select either personal or business use

   If you select “personal” all logging and remote management capabilities are disabled

4. Once pairing succeeds, wait for the device to appear on your app and connect

   This could take a few seconds for the phone to detect the computer and connect

5. Follow the built-in welcome guide to test drive your newfound powers 💪

   

6. You can always come back and configure various settings to optimize your Allthenticate experience at any time by clicking the logo in your tray

Once paired and your phone is connected, you can

• Unlock your computer without passwords
• Lock your computer automatically when your phone if out of range
• Use your phone as a USB FIDO security key to store passkeys over Bluetooth!

• Use the SSH key generated and stored securely on your phone instead of the insecure one stored in a file on your computer
  • SSH Keys (Stored on Your Phone)
• sudo passwordlessly!
  • Type sudo "Allthenticate rocks!"
• Login to SSO websites instantly without a password or prompts on your phone using Proximity Login
  • Proximity Login (Instant Login for Websites)
• Import and store all of your time-based one time passwords (TOTPs) from your other apps
